Obsession, thy name is Key Caps

Having finally moved in to my new place I feel that I can really make everything more of my own. I have shared a dorm in college, an college apartment with others, a regular adult apartment with some of those same people, and lived in a white box in a foreign land on my own. Even though I still share living quarters with my boyfriend it still feels more of a "all mine" situation here. To commemorate this momentous occasion I have picked a fitting obsession for tonight and probably a little longer, we will see. badadadadadadada ( drum roll as heard by me said over and over in a hotel room) FUN KEY CAPS or key covers, really. Now I have always wanted some and the Walmart American flag patterned key just wasn't doing it. I know which key is which, at times, but I still think it is a great idea.

Here are my top obsession choices:

I am a fan of the gnome quirky-ness, nostalgic for David the Gnome, his giant hat and the blue bird he rides through the opening credits with. I also have a sneaking suspicion that it was originally filmed in Finland or Sweden or another Scandinavian country.

Though I do not know how long I want old men on my keys.

Price: $4.95

I have also been hugely attracted to the hit animal accessory for hipsters: the owl . Suddenly they are super cool, I agree but I wish all the american apparel wearers would lay off the owl in their vintage jewelry so I can feel free to buy them without feeling like should be wearing skinny jeans and Buddy Holly glasses with them.

These are still a contender because there are so many in so many colors! I have three keys but I can find more.

Price: $4.95

This might be my favorite because:
1) it was on Thinkgeek.com
2) The horns!!!!!!

What might make me not buy:
1) The look of pink and purple unicorns on my key chain, though I could take a sharpie to the mane.

Price: $4.99

Ok, I admit this one is for me and my roomie and I really don't want to be disgusting while telling the appeal of these key caps but for the sake of true journalism, which is what this clearly is, I will do it.

I have a shirt that shows milk and cookie slapping hands under a title of "Teamwork". My boyfriend and I have gotten in the habit of recreating the scene with our own roles: thus the draw.

The real question is if it has staying power.......

Price: $9.00

yes. These are just like the owls but with less pretentious overtones, just more odd lonely anime lover/ larper implications .

But:
Very cute
Many colors
Many

Price: $5.00

Lounge Fly and Gama- Go have many amazing key caps but did not strike my fancy enough to make the list.
